In 2016, I challenged myself to do the split for the longest duration possible — it was 8 minutes. Four years later, after a year of almost no training nor Jyut Kek (‘Cantonese Opera’) performances, I took up the challenge to do it again as part of 8'. Every Thursday, at the beginning of each opening hour, immersed in the standby light from the projector, I mirrored my past selves and practiced the split for eight minutes.
